Say It Isn't So! No more Redux!

Our favorite store in Alameda is closing soon due to St.Vincent DePauls' "reorganization", meaning seeking more profit over serving the community.  Of course the argument would be made that more profits will enable the organization to assist the community in different ways but we are losing something unique and special with the closure of Redux.

Redux is both a storefront of offerings of vintage furniture and home stuff and a community artist studio in the back. It's a quirky place run by nice and quirky folks.  We only know the two people who run the storefront, Chris and Emily.  They play nice interesting tunes. They sell and display interesting intriguing items. Our home is stocked with a lot of purchases from Redux.  Their prices are excellent, and they were always nice to us, especially when we first moved to Alameda.

We hope the artists get to stay although we kind of believe that they will get the boot too. We hope that Chris and Emily land somewhere welcoming to their talents and skills, and and minimally realize that their time served is appreciated and however time might seem to suggest, they were an important fabric to our lives and to the community. Best wishes.
